Block Repeat

This is the image i chose to use for the block repeat the reason being is because i think it was best suited out of all my other images.

This is the block repeat pattern I created I just like the added affect it gives to the image something unique that could be transferred onto fabric

2nd attempt much more improvement all that i needed to do was to put the grid on to select the row accurately

After choosing the pattern I wanted to use as a mask I went on object>clipping masks> so that the pattern would be masked into the shape and re sized and re positioned the pattern I did this so the pattern was more pleasant looking.

After selecting the mannequin I wanted to use I created a new layer and by using the pen tool I drew the outline of the mannequin it took a lot of time because it required a lot of attention to detail

Half drop repeat

This is a half drop repeat something that was done for a good added affect. it wasn't as successful as i hoped because there are a few gaps here and there but in my next few attempts that mishap won't  occur  again as i have recognized the problem

This is also a half drop repeat but i have just altered the colour to see what it does to the image

After lots of attempts i have finally got it right without any gaps  

playing around with colors  to see the effect it gives to the image

Finally after completing the outline of the mannequin and on to the exciting bit witch was to then cloth it again using the pen tool which I had gotten a bit more familiar with i didn’t want to stick with the  plain old  jeans and shirt t so I tried to showcase my creativity by making different dresses

Really happy with the outcome although it was quite time consuming it was all worth it in the end because I ended up with a pretty good fashion illustration

This image needed a bit of altering I wanted to give the image more of a slim figure

After  creating  a new layer for facial details and hair I tried adding different brush stroke effects to give it a more hand drawn look  I created the hair by using different shapes and then going on window>brushes  to explore the different effects it creates

This is a section of my file i used the crop tool to crop different  parts off just to experiment.

On this image i used the platte knife filter for the background to make it look like grass

Scan

To scan my work in to the computer i used image capture. I set the resolution to 150dpi the reason being is so that my file won't be too large. It will make it easier to work with in photoshop

vest

i used the ellipse tool to create a circle and clicked and dragged a second circle that was slightly smaller than the first one I found it quite tricky to get the circles  in the position I wanted  them at

I used the reflect tool to create the other half of the garment and joined the two halves together by  clicking on object> path>average

With the pen tool I used the seven anchor points to draw half of the vest , to modify the curves I clicked and dragged the curve handles and released the mouse when I was happy with the curve it was quite tricky but I managed it alright
